About Our Hospital
Kindred Hospital Park View is a long-term acute care hospital (LTAC) that specializes in providing comprehensive care; including complex care, short-term rehabilitation, and pulmonary care services. The main campus in Springfield includes LTAC units, a 28-bed neurobehavioral unit and a 30-bed psychiatric rehabilitation unit managed for the Department of Mental Health. In addition to the Springfield campus, Kindred Hospital Park View also has a location in Rochdale, Kindred Hospital Park View - Central Mass.
Interdisciplinary Care
A patient-centered approach to care is the guiding principle of all Kindred Hospital Park View programs and services. The clinical team consists of physicians, nurses, rehabilitation therapists, respiratory therapists, dieticians, and most importantly the patient and family. The team evaluates patients upon admission, and sets specific goals and objectives based on each patient’s needs. LTAC patient care is considered “hospital level of care.” The medical team, clinicians and others as needed see patients daily. Nurse-staffing levels support an intermediate level of care and respiratory therapists are assigned 24 hours a day, seven days a week. When the team determines the patient has made sufficient progress to transition to a lesser setting of care, the case manager will work with the family in planning that transition.
